Dear friends,

medical supplies
Every day there are small and large changes being made in healthcare. What happens to Medicare, Medicaid, and other agencies affects us all greatly. There is so much to learn that it is almost impossible to keep up with all the new codes, policies, etc.
Now with a new president, there may be even more changes. Doctors, nurses, patients, parents, children, web customers and support coordinators call us every day asking about products and Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance coverage. Who can possibly know it all?

SOME LITTLE KNOWN FACTS THAT MIGHT SAVE YOU MONEY OR PROVIDE YOU WITH ADDITIONAL SERVICES.

Did you know: medical supplies medical supplies
medical suppliesFlorida Medicaid covers diabetes testing supplies through the pharmacies, but insulin pump supplies are supplied by durable medical equipment companies such as Elite Home Medical Supplies. Your state might have the same procedure.

Adults as well as children are now able to obtain many types of support stockings or compression garments through Florida Medicaid.

medical suppliesMedicare pays for about 1 self catheter per week, but with a letter from the doctor documenting infection and the number of times catheterization is needed, a large and adequate supply of catheters may be approved.

Florida Medicaid will now provide nebulizers and nebulizer kits for adults. Up to 3 nebulizer kits per month may be provided.

medical suppliesAll nebulizers provided by Elite Home Medical Supplies are new and have a 5-year warranty. We rarely have a nebulizer brought in for warranty repairs. They can last for years and years.

You may have heard that Medicare only pays for one kind of test strip or certain test strips. Medicare does not know what kind of test strips you are getting. All test strips are billed using the same billing code. There are some test strips that are more expensive than the Medicare allowed amount. These test strips can be supplied unassigned. That means that medical suppliesyou pay up front, your supplier bills for you and Medicare pays you. The cost of these test strips, although not totally covered by Medicare and your insurance, will in the end cost you very little to have the exact test strip you and your doctor prefer. In some cases your secondary insurance might pay the entire difference.
